As an orthopaedic surgeon, I have helped numerous people improve their quality of life while I let my own health and quality of life decline.
Once I finally made the commitment to change the trajectory of my own life, I have able to truly become the best doctor, surgeon, and father I was destined to be.
I now help other busy professional dads take the first steps to improve their health through proper nutrition and strength training.
Does this sound familiar?
- You get up after a busy night working late with very little sleep, skip breakfast, and hustle to work.
- You grab a donut from donut shop on the way to work so you don’t have to go through the work day hungry
- You get behind schedule toward the end of the morning workday and realize you’re not going to have time to eat lunch.
- One of your staff offers to go get pizza and you frantically eat a couple slices as you try to catch up on all the paperwork from the morning
- You dredge with the afternoon feeling tired and lethargic, trying to maintain customer satisfaction while your own job satisfaction is running on empty.
- You stay at the office finishing up paperwork and realize you “are starving”.
- You need to get home before the kids go to bed, so you decide to grab a burger and fries to go from the fast food joint on the path home.
- You tell yourself you will make a healthy meal when you get home and bring it to work the next day.
- However, once you get home, you need to help get the kids bathed and ready for bed.
- Once the kids are in bed, you are so exhausted that you head to bed yourself.
The next day isn’t much different. You continuously plow through day after day feeling tired and beat down trying to optimize people’s priorities while your own health suffers.
It’s time we prioritize our own health.
I am Jeremy Saller, an orthopedic surgeon who had let my own health decline for years during my training and my early career. Then one day, I finally decided to fuel my body with the healthy nutrition it was craving.
As my eating habits improved, I began to think more clearly and noticed I had more energy. Over the first few months of changing my eating habits, I had lost about 20 pounds and over 2 inches of my waist. I now had the energy, mental clarity, and motivation to begin exercising regularly.
I began participating in strength training and flexibility training. I felt invigorated and noticed I had more energy at work and more energy to play with my young boys on the weekends and after work.
After making these changes in my own life, I realized I wanted to help other busy professionals find satisfaction in their lives as well. By changing your mindset and making different nutrition and fitness choices, you can live your life truly fulfilled.
Let’s break the chains that we’re locked into and start living the lives we tell our patients to lead. Join me in a journey to become the best version of yourself!
